GALA RESULTS 2023

St Helens Swimming Club rounded off a hectic pre-Christmas schedule and a successful year at the Trafford Metro Meet over the weekend. Hayden took gold in the 200m Individual Medley and 100m Breaststroke as well as a silver in the 50m Backstroke.

Miles, in his first gala struck gold in the 50m Freestyle and silver in the 50m Breaststroke, whilst the experienced Shreyas picked up silver in the 50m & 100m Breaststroke. Oliver added a silver and bronze to his collection.

There was silver for Harry and a bronze for both Ella and Ava W. Another debutant, Isabelle finished fourth in the 50m Freestyle and there were personal bests for Sam , Darcey and Henry.

Hayden again led the way with gold medals in the 200m Individual Medley and 200m Backstroke as well as bronze in the 50m & 100m Freestyle.

Oliver was another double gold winner, touching first in the 50m & 200m Backstroke, adding a silver from the 100m Backstroke.

Harry got a “Full House” taking gold in the 200m Individual Medley, Silver in the 100m Freestyle and bronze in the 50m Freestyle.

There was a gold for Ella in the 50m Backstroke and her first county time.

Jaxon finished the weekend with three silvers and a bronze, whilst Ruby P and Charlie CC were both rewarded for their hard work, each winning a silver.

Riley, Shreyas, Alicia, Josh , Ava W and Imogen J all secured Personal Bests.

The weekend saw St Helens Swimming Club start what will be a busy period in the run up to Christmas with the short journey to Orford Jubilee Centre for the Percy Mason Meet.

Hayden was again in good form taking bronze in the 200m Breaststroke and 400m Freestyle, whilst Riley's two bronze medals include a superb performance in the 1500m Freestyle on Friday evening.

Oliver is turning into a fine middle-distance swimmer with his bronze medal in the 800m Freestyle being just reward for some hard training. Ella claimed bronze in the 50m Backstroke.

There were also some good performances, including several Personal Best’s from Alicia, Shreyas, Charlie B, Ava T, Emily, Josh, Sam, Amelia, Jaxon, Ruby and Harry.

What a great weekend at Wirral.  Super swimming and some massive pb's for our amazing swimmers!

Great day today, we had 6 swimmers in finals in a variety of strokes, we had a tense time awaiting our first ever swim-off with Ella tied for a place in the final. Amazing results and so proud of everyone of our swimmers competing today.

3 x 🥇Gold- Oliver in 100m back & Hayden in 50m breast x2

3 x 🥈Silver- Hayden in 100m back & 100 breast, Oliver in 50m back 

6 x  🥉bronzes- Oliver in 50m free & 100m free, Alicia & Shreyas in 50m breast, Alicia in 50m fly & 100m breast

4th- Ella & Hayden in 50m back and Jaxon in 100m fly

5th- Alicia in 100m back, Pratyush & Hayden 50m fly, Shreyas 50m breast, Hayden in 50m free

6th- Henry in 50m back
